MVP?

Let me start by saying this, you could make an argument for any of the players involved in the MVP consideration. Kobe, CP3, Lebron, KG.

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Lebron James, Chris Paul

I think Lebron is removed because his team is just not good enough in a weak eastern conference. They are guaranteed to not even win 50 games in that same eastern conference. He’s got great personal numbers but much like Kobe’s 04-05 season. The Celtics are still a top 4 team in the east without KG and when he went down earlier, they were still winning. His numbers are not even close to MVP numbers and they are below his career averages.

So to me it boils down to Kobe and CP3. You take either one off his respective team and at least in this season, neither one makes the playoffs. So how do you choose? They’ve both got phenomenal numbers but they play different positions so its hard to compare. Their teams have similar records so its hard to say that as the difference. Although, the Hornets haven’t dealt with anywhere close to the Lakers in total games lost due to injury to KEY players. No Gasol for the last 9+ games. No Bynum for 35+ games, Ariza for the same, etc… DWest has missed a handful of games and that’s about it. Yet, the Lakers are still within 1.5 games of New Orleans and we have 1 more heads up game. If we’re healthy, our record is the best in the west. Since I really think it could go either way, I think you have to take the guy who you would want on your team in Game 7 of the NBA Finals with 1 possession left for both teams and the game on the line. My guy is Kobe, he guards your guy on the defensive end and I wouldn’t want anybody else taking that last shot.

Obviously, a very quick breakdown of who should win the MVP but can you think of a better way to determine it? Thoughts….
