I am going to keep this post very short, due to the fact that I am still upset about last night’s game. Losing is one thing, getting BLOWNout is another. I wouldn’t even know where to begin with last night. Bottom line, the Lakers got beat in EVERY offensive and defensive category from the 1st period all the way to the end of the 4th. What a terrible game. The curse/losing streak remains in respect to the Rose Garden. We do, however, play them one more time this season at the Rose Garden. April 10th. So mark your calendars and get ready for a bashing that game. It WILL be good.
Lakers tomorrow night in Houston for another tough road game, starting at 5:30pm. The Rockets are considered by many to be the “surprise” team down the stretch, and the way they have been playing of late, The Boys need to go in strong from the tip off. Lets get back on track!

Manny Ramirez - Los Angeles Dodgers
After 4 months of negotiations, and 5 different offers, the deal for Manny Ramirez FINALLY got done. Welcome back to “the real” LA Manny. So Dodgers fans break out the gloves in the outfield seats, and lets see those dreadlocks flowing again, because this is going to be a GREAT season. The contract ended up being for 2 years and $45mil with a opt out clause after this year. The opt out clause I actually like a lot, due to the fact that Manny will HAVE to play hard to increase his worth for next season. Nothing but smiles of joy over here. Continue reading
After back to back loses to the Nuggets and the Suns, the Lakers got back on track Tuesday night against the Grizzles. This was suppose to be a game that we dominated, and it started off that way. The second period of the game however had me getting pretty mad. We stopped playing defense, and we couldn’t buy a bucket. I don’t know what Phil told them at half time, but it worked. We came out in the 3rd quarter and just dominated. With a HUGE lead going into the 4th Phil was able to rest all of the starters and not really have to worry about it. The second unit stretched the lead to 20 before breaking down and having to regroup. Towards the end of the game Phil had to look down the bench and re-insert Pau to restore quick order. It did the trick, and the Lakers went on to win 99-89. Continue reading
Ok so last night’s game wasn’t the prettiest win this season, but it proved something. Kobe Bryant, when he puts his mind to it, can accomplish anything he wants. The Lakers took a huge lead throughout the game and figured going into the end of the 3rd start of the 4th Kobe and the starting lineup would be done for the evening. Not close. The Thunder went on a 15-2 run that brought them at one point within 1 point. I was sitting at home wondering when Phil was going to put Kobe back in the game. The next stoppage of play, Kobe was back in. From that point the game was over. Kobe came in and dropped 10 quick points in the first 2-3 mins he was in there……..I believe. This gave us enough cushion for me to feel comfortable about winning this game. The second squad should thank Kobe for saving them last night. Continue reading
Complete dominance is the only phrase to use when talking about this Los Angeles Lakers team this season. There really is no other way to put it. One of my buddies today made a good reference to exactly what is going on with the team this year. He said it is like “Whatever you can do, I can do better.” This is exactly how the Lakers are playing right now. Whatever another team brings to the table, we one up them. There isn’t a team in the league right now that has an advantage over us. The Lakers have the best starting 5 in the NBA, even without Andrew Bynum, and they have the deepestbench in the league as well. How can you compete with that? My bad, you CAN’T. The Lakers have assembled a true juggernaut, and other teams should be scared. Continue reading
This past weekend was full of excitement out in the desert. Phoenix hosted this years event, and it wasn’t short of laughs and good basketball. Anyone who is anybody was there enjoying the great festivities. I think Phoenix did a wonderful job of hosting this years event, and I didn’t have much to complain about. Well maybe about the HORSE contest, but other than that I had a GREAT weekend. Has anyone noticed how big the JabbaWockeeZ are getting now days? Ridiculous. Lets take a look at what went down this weekend in the desert. Continue reading
Los Angeles Lakers
Well Lakers fans, I know you are probably as elated about this season so far as I am. I knew at the beginning of the year that we would be solid, but to be honest I thought we still had to learn toughness. Boy was I wrong. Since game one the Lakers have come out with a vengeance and anger that I haven’t seen in them since our 3 Peat campaign. They have not only put up HUGE point totals, but in those same games absolutely shut teams down offensively. What more can you ask for?
This last 6 game road trip was the hardest on the schedule this year, and we took it in stride. Losing Bynum in the second game was a big loss, but we kept our composure and finished off in style beating the Eastern Conference’s two best teams. Not only did we strike fear into the 2 teams that are our closest competition, but we struck fear into the entire league. EVERYONE is looking at what they can do to beat the Lakers. It’s beautiful.
