Back To Talk About……Well Just Talk!

So it’s been a couple weeks since my last post.  I do apologize for the time off.  My days have gotten busier, and my work has gotten worse.  I wont get into that though.  Shhhh, people from my work read my blog, don’t tell.  Anyways, there has been a lot happening in the sports world that I feel I need to catch up on.  So without further delay lets get right into it.  Just to warn you this post will jump from sport to sport, so if you get too much of a brain overload………well I warned ya. The Shock Heard ‘Round The World!

No doubt there are more people than not that are completely shocked by what the Giants were able to do to the Patriots. I mean, they were 18-0 and they weren’t supposed to lose? Well, during the season, it became evident that there were things you absolutely had to do if you wanted to have a chance. Obviously, nobody was able to do it. The Patriots offense was explosive, you figure out a way to disrupt it and you have a chance. That’s what it boiled down to. Continue reading

Super Bowl Sunday – Time For Kickoff

There isn’t going to be much to this post.  All I wanted to do was wish everyone a safe and fun day.  Make sure to get your beer, food, and party supplies early today.  If you’re one of those “I’ll pick everything up on the way over” people I feel sorry for you.  Where are you going to sit once the game starts?  What are you going to do when all of the good squares are taken or worse none left at all?  Those are just a couple things to think about.  So checklist for the game today: Continue reading

Super Bowl Sunday – Part 4

Lets just get right into the nitty gritty of things.  The Giants are very over-matched in this game on Sunday.  The Patriots have a better QB, a better WR corps,  a more knowledgeable and wiser coach, and definitely more experience.  So how do the Giants stand a chance?  Exploiting the only 2 advantages they have in this game.  Their defense and their running game. Continue reading

Super Bowl Sunday – Part 3

Two days left till the kickoff of Super Bowl XLII.  I hope everyone has their Sunday plans in order and are ready for the game.  That’s funny, because I actually have NO idea what I’m doing for the festivities.  All I know is that I will spend my day drinking, BBQ’n, and talking mess to all the Patriot fans I know.  Correction, talking mess to the 1 Patriot fan I know.  Thankfully most of my friend share the same hatred for New England as I do, so it makes it easy.  In my last couple of posts, Super Bowl Sunday and Super Bowl Sunday – Part 2 we took a look some of the more important positions on the field.  Quarterback and Wide Receiver.  The QB battle wasn’t that hard to anoint a winner, as there really is no comparison to Tom Brady’s skills.  The Wide Receiver battle was a little closer.  For those of you who didn’t read that post are probably thinking, “How can the WR be a close battle?  New England has a WAY better receiving corps than the Giants.”  I cannot argue that fact.  The thing is though I only compared the “elite” WRs on the team.  Burress and Moss.  Put Plax on a team with a good, consistent QB.  See what I’m saying?  Good.  In this post we will leave the field, and hit the sideline to see the difference between Darth Vader and Gollum. Super Bowl Sunday – Part 2

In my last post “Super Bowl Sunday”, I went ahead and broke down the quarterback position for both of these teams.  Obviously, if you are any kind of football fan you would already know which team has the advantage at the QB position this Sunday.  For those of you that do not, and didn’t read my last post, let me put it as simply as possible.  The New England Patriots’ Tom Brady against the New York Giants’ Eli Manning.  That should be sufficient enough for you.  If not, you need to crawl out from the rock that you have been living under for the last couple of years.  I hate to say it, but Tom Brady is the best QB in the NFL these days.  Peyton this and Peyton that, but who has the most rings?  So lets move on to the next set of players.  One of my favorite positions on the field.  The wide receivers. Continue reading

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here!  Are you excited?  I know that I am.  Although I must admit I am looking more forward to the food, squares, unusual “next commercial” gambling, and beer, than I am the actually game.  Although some people believe that the Giants actually have a shot at beating the Patriots, I personally do not think so.  I believe those that think this also are probably buying into the whole “Brady, high ankle sprain” hoopla.  Thankfully I do not find myself on that side of the fence.  The Tom Brady injury was one the funniest stories that I read this week.  Even funnier was that it happened to be TMZ that caught it on tape.  But we’ll get into that later on.  For now lets talk about the actual game and what that will play out like, and then we’ll get into the entire Super Bowl truths and rumors. Continue reading
